Method Decision Chart (MEDx) Spreadsheet

It's always fun to see someone pick up an idea and do something to advance it's application. Here's a good example using the Method Decision Chart which was discussed recently in a lesson on MV - The Decision on Acceptability.

Dr. Jose Carlos Basques and his colleagues have provided a neat implementation of the Method Decision Chart using the Excel spreadsheet. A spreadsheet was developed in Microsoft Excel 97 for getting an automatic plotting of the MEDx chart. Both CV and Bias% ar entered directly in the B5 and B6 cells of the spreadsheet. The total allowable error (%) is entered manually as well, in the B4 cell fof the spreadsheet. Once those three pieces of data are entered, the spreadsheet will automatically plot the operating point in the graph below and the method performance will be displayed on the side. An example is shown below:
