Since its inception in 1992,
Westgard QC has trained thousands of healthcare professionals
in QC, QA, method validation, and other critical laboratory skills.
Our workshops, training and mentoring are designed to provide
appropriate levels of learning to our target audience. While
our public workshops provide a high level overview of a given
topic and are targeted to a general audience, our consulting
services are designed to work closely with a development team
and is typically specific to a given project/application. We
can also customize our training material based entirely on your
needs and requests.

Dr.
Westgard has given thousands of public presentations on hundreds
of topics. Presentations can be as simple and straightforward
as PowerPoint slideshows, or can be as complicated interactive
as question-and-answer problem-solving while learning and using
software.
The following types of workshops
are available:
- Public
- open to all. See our workshop page
for most recent dates.
- Sponsored Public - open to the public, with preference
give to sponsors clients, staff, etc.
- In-house - closed to the public, with topics
and materials entirely customized to the client
Attending
a public workshop is
how many people make their first acquaintance with Westgard QC
and the tools and technology of advanced Quality Control. If
a few of your staff want to learn the latest in QC, sending them
to a Westgard workshop is sure to produce results. See
what participants have to say about Westgard Workshops.
Sponsoring a public workshop is an easy, inexpensive way for companies
to demonstrate their commitment to quality. Invite your clients
and you provide them with a service as well - they learn that
you value quality, that you value your customer, and that the
service you provide is a quality one.
Having an in-house workshop is ideal for companies who need quick,
focused results on a project. If you're working on a deadline
and need training for your staff right now, an in-house workshop
allows you to specify the topic for training, In-house workshops
are also great for institutions that need immediate improvements
in their QC practices. If you're QC is failing badly and you
don't know where to start, start with a Westgard workshop.

Westgard QC about workshops

Westgard QC, Inc. was the first
company to offer accredited online courses through both the AACC
and ASCLS. More than a thousand participants from over 30 countries
have taken our online courses, including classes at the University
of Maryland, University of Texas-San Antonio, UT-Pan American,
University of North Dakota, Idaho State University, Michigan
Technological University, as well as site licenses with the California
VA system, US Army, and many corporations.
Here are some of the online
courses currently offered through Westgard QC:
Each participant in an online
course receives their own individual username and password. They
have the ability to learn at their own pace, and at the end,
take an online exam at the and receive their PACE credits - for
courses like Basic QC Practices, 15 credits are given, a full
year's supply for most continuing educational requirements. Participants
also have the ability to post their questions to an online forum,
and so interact with their peers, or they can e-mail Dr. Westgard
directly with any questions or comments that they may have.

When multiple staff wish to
take an online course, the most cost-effective method is a site
license. Typically, you can save more than 50% off the regular
rates when you have 10 or more staff interested in taking the
same online course. We guarantee that your site license will
save you as much, if not more, than you spend. This makes the
site license a tremendously convenient and economic training
option; Westgard QC has arranged them for hospitals, universities,
health systems, private corporations, as well as the VA system
in California, and several Army medical groups.
However you slice it, a site
license and/or an individual participant registration is far
cheaper than spending thousands on travel, hotel accommodations,
etc,. in order to send your staff to conferences.
