Zhujiang hospital is the second affiliated hospital and the second clinical medical college of southern medical university (formerly the first military medical university). Founded in 1947, it was transferred to Guangdong province in August 2004 along with the university. It is a large comprehensive teaching hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and preventive health care.

Zhujiang hospital is the country's first "first-class ternary hospitals," part of China's "twelfth five-year" the first comprehensive strength, national health development planning commission, the international brand hospital hospital emergency rescue center network, and one of the national "baby-friendly hospitals."
